Go green with this matcha mixed drink


Coconut Kyoto

This creamy, vegan cocktail is named for matcha’s global production hub in Kyoto, Japan.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Shine Vodka

  • 1 oz coconut milk

  • 1 tsp matcha powder (set aside extra for garnish)

  • 1 oz vanilla simple syrup:

    • ½ cup water

    • ½ cup sugar (for deeper flavor, try brown sugar)

    • 1 bar spoon vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Whisk matcha powder with 1 oz warm water until smooth.

  2. Add the matcha mixture, Shine Vodka, vanilla simple syrup, and coconut milk into a shaker filled with ice.

  3. Shake vigorously until chilled and frothy.

  4. Strain into a chilled glass and dust lightly with matcha powder.

VANILLA SIMPLE SYRUP RECIPE

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, stir equal amounts of sugar and water until the sugar dissolves.

  2. Add vanilla extract.

  3. Let the syrup cool, use as needed, then refrigerate any leftover.
